I'm putting together a collection of photos and (for those of you with either lots of bandwidth or lots of time) videos of examples of this feat that have been miraculously caught on tape!

Chin Balancing FAQ

oh, my heavens, doesn't that hurt???

Yes

Where'd you learn to do this?

Chin balancing is an inborn talent. I know of nowhere that it can be learned. It's a gift.

How'd you discover you had this talent??

One fateful october morning I was waiting for the bus in 6th grade. My neighbor had thrown a chain into the air and it had inadvertently wrapped itself around an electrical wire. We all amused ourselves by attempting to knock it down with sticks.

While I was holding the 10 foot long stick over my head trying to whack this object free i had an urge. A strange, uncontrollable urge to place it on my chin. What possessed me? What forces caused this? I do not know, but I was putting things on my chin, non-stop, for the next three weeks.

Are there any practical uses for chin balancing?

Aside from showing off, impressing people (including prospective employers), and being a showman... i have yet to find any practical uses for this art.

Do you like pastrami?

No
